“CPI Security, identify yourself,” is a catchphrase heard on the commercials for a popular security system, but three Salisbury men didn’t have to identify themselves when they attempted to break into a Confederate Avenue home last Friday morning. The security company notified local police that three people were in the process of breaking into a home and were under video surveillance.
Salisbury Police charged Christopher Claymore Jones, 18, of the 100 block of Clancy Street, Steven Michael Jones, 24, of the 500 block of East Liberty Street, and Matthew Dasean Lennon, 17, of the 800 block of South Church Street.
An alarm sounded at the home in the 1000 block of Confederate Avenue early Friday morning. The security company watched the three men on a live feed after they triggered the alarm, a report said.
A police officer spotted the three in the 400 block of Confederate Avenue and matched their descriptions to the security company’s video feed. The video showed them inside a sunroom, making their way into a sliding glass door. One of the suspects kicked the door and the alarm sounded. All three remain in the Rowan County Detention Center, each under a $15,000 secured bond.
