Legion Baseball: Rowan, Stanly to play doubleheader

ALBEMARLE — Ready for a full day of American Legion baseball?

Area fans will get a good dose of it on Thursday, thanks to Rowan’s rainout at Stanly County on Wednesday.


First-place Rowan (5-0 in the Southeast Division) holds a one-game lead over Stanly (4-1). The teams will now play a doubleheader Thursday. The first game will be played at Don Montgomery Park in Albemarle at 1 p.m., with the teams returning to Newman Park for the regularly scheduled game.

Southern Rowan (4-2) is also at home Thursday night at 7, facing Concord.
