GASTONIA (AP) — The operator of a Gastonia area station says someone has taken 3,000 gallons of gasoline from his business.
The Gaston Gazette reported that Shah Ratilal Guvanthal was surprised when he ran out of gas earlier this month, just after he refilled his fuel tanks.
He says he discovered that the fuel had been taken from the pumps without payment. He says the gasoline was worth about $10,000.
Guvanthal thinks thieves have been using a key to the pump to get away with not paying for the fuel. He says someone could have stolen pump keys.
He says there are no suspects. Video cameras outside the gas station were not working at the time.
Guvanthal hopes to have the pumps refilled soon.
