Rowan-Salisbury serving free summer meals to children

SALISBURY — Rowan-Salisbury School System Child Nutrition Services will serve free breakfast and lunch to children this summer through the 2013 Summer Food Service Program.
Service begins June 17 and ends Aug. 15, Monday through Friday, unless otherwise listed. There will be no service on July 4. Breakfast is staggered from 7:45 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., and lunch is staggered from 10:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Meals will be provided to all children without charge at the following open sites:

To be eligible to receive free meals at a residential or non-residential camp, children must meet the income guidelines for reduced price meals in the National School Lunch Program. Children who are part of households that receive food stamps, or benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) are automatically eligible to receive free meals.
Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
