Habitat for Humanity of Rowan County is now taking applications for home ownership. Any Rowan County family with a housing need is encouraged to apply. Interested persons may stop by the Habitat office and/or ReStore located at 1707 S. Main St., and begin the initial application questionnaire. Application questions are also answered by Habitat staff every week day by phoning 704-642-6292, option 2.
Who are the people who become Habitat homeowners? According to a press release, they are similar to other Rowan County citizens except less fortunate in material possessions. The release says they tend to be hard-working; they pay their bills; they have various racial backgrounds; most were born in this country — a few are refugees who came to Rowan County from war-ravaged homelands. All Habitat homeowners are United States citizens and taxpayers. If you know persons who fit the description please encourage them to speak with Habitat about home ownership.
Habitat for Humanity of Rowan County is a Christian ministry founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety. Habitat helps low-income families with their housing needs.
