SALISBURY — OK, another weekend is in the books, and many of you may have spent those days lavishly decorating your houses and lawns for the holidays.
Maybe what you’ve accomplished is worthy of nomination to the Post’s first ever — and probably the last — “Yule Light Up My Life” contest.
If you think your outside decorations or your neighbor’s Christmas light displays — or magnificently decorated yards you have passed — are worthy of consideration as among the top 10 in this area, please nominate them.
Post columnist Mark Wineka will accept nominations by email (mwineka@salisburypost.com), fax (704-639-0003), regular mail (P.O. Box 4639, Salisbury, NC 28145) or Facebook (Mark Wineka, message him).
With your nomination, include (if possible) the home’s address, maybe a brief description of the display and directions on how to get there. You can nominate your own place.
Wineka will be driving by and inspecting the nominations as time allows.
The deadline for nominations is Dec. 12.
With “Yule Light Up My Life,”Wineka is looking to create a list of the Top 10 places to see the lights and decorations of Christmas in this area.
The Post aims at publishing a list and map of the 10 best Dec. 16. The locations should be good enough to gather up the kids and relatives, push them into the car and take off on a nighttime adventure.
Wineka also will select an overall winner and write a story behind how the winner’s holiday display came together.
