Registration Thursday for East Spencer sports camp

EAST SPENCER — Registration is today for a nine-week summer sports camp for youngsters ages 5 to 18.

The camp is being sponsored by the Chronicles of Human Services, Shady Grove Baptist Church and town of East Spencer with sports activities organized by Rowan County Coach of the Year Andrew Mitchell. 

A free breakfast and lunch will be offered during the camp by Chronicles of Human Services organization at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 532 S. Long Street. The breakfast will be from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and the camp will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the sports instruction at Royal Giants Park on Robinson Road. 

Activities at Shady Grove Baptist will also be conducted by Chronicles of Human Services. Lunch will be available at Shady Grove Church at noon. The camp begins Monday, June 24 and runs for nine weeks through Thursday, Aug. 22.

Registration for participants will be at 6:30 p.m. today at Royal Giants Park. Parents and youth can see Mitchell at the park to complete the process. There will be free food available at the park for those who come to register.
