The Pastors aid committee of Hall’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, 611 E. Monroe St., will sponsor their annual old-time gospel reunion at 4 p.m. today.
The Rev. Timothy Bridges of Shady Grove Baptist Church of East Spencer will be the guest speaker. Host pastor is Richard Johnson.
The Voices of Joy
MOORESVILLE — Voices of Joy will celebrate its 58th anniversary at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Visiting choirs will participate.
The celebration will be held at Sills Creek AME Zion Church, 3165 Bradshaw Road. The Rev. Jordan is host pastor.

During 8:30 a.m. contemporary and the 10:45 a.m. traditional service, Salem Lutheran Church, 5080 Sherrills Ford Road, will recognize graduates and scholarship recipients.
The nine graduates of Salem are Caleb Ghandour, Felicia Ghandour, Elizabeth Hefner, Amy Hipp, Chullin Pardee, Clarke Phifer, Emily Satterwhite, Jennifer Wagner and Ben Wilson.
The Shulenburger (college academic) and Briggs Scholarships (music) will also be awarded during the service.
Dedication and recital
CHINA GROVE — St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 326 N. Main St., will dedicate its new C.B. Fisk Organ, Opus 143, during the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday with a celebration through congregational song.
A dedication recital, free and open to the public, will be held at 3 p.m. by Dr. Jacqueline Yost, followed by a reception.
Yost, a native of Salisbury, graduated from the University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music, attended Case Western’s Cleveland Institute of Music, and has won the coveted Harold Gleason Emerging Artist Award and the Performer’s certificate.
Currently she is the organist and director of music at First Presbyterian Church in Concord, and a lecturer of music theory and Aural skills at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
LANDIS — June is Missionary Month at Calvary Fundamental Baptist Church, 414 Upright St.
The Rev. David Ballinger, missionary to West Indies, will be delivering the 11 a.m. morning service and the 6 p.m. evening service Sunday.
SPENCER — Spencer Presbyterian Church will present scholarships to three students during 11 a.m. service Sunday.
The scholarships are in memory of Evelyn K. Tichenor who taught at Spencer High School and North Rowan High School for a combination of 37 years.
Recipients are Bryson Shepherd, Zachary Hunter and Taylor Johnston.
The church is located on 1st Street in Spencer off Salisbury Ave. across from the entrance to the North Carolina Transportation Museum.
St. Matthew Baptist
ROCKWELL — St. Matthew Baptist Church, 508 Watkins St., will observe its annual Men’s Day on Sunday.
The 3 p.m. speaker will be the Rev. Dennis Clodfelter, pastor of New Life Worship Center of Lexington.
Erwin Temple CME
COOLEEMEE — The Pastors Aide Ministry of ErwinTemple CME Church will present the annual program, Twelve Tribes Of Israel, at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Various area churches are invited to participate in representing the tribes.
There will be gospel singing by each tribe during the program.
CONCORD — New Beginning, 5717 Alexander Road, will host a gospel celebration at 4 p.m. Sunday.
On program will be The Mitchell Community College Inspirational Choir under the direction of Freddie Morrison; The Gospel Traveliers of the Carolinas; and The Brown Family of Charlotte.

Outreach Christian Ministries
The kickoff at Outreach Christian Ministries, 722 W. Horah St., for senior pastor Bradley A. Taylor’s first anniversary celebration will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Bishop Kevin Long and Temple Church International of Charlotte will be the special guests.
Anniversary events continue July 7 through 14 at the church. This year’s theme is Serving with Passion, Persistence & Excellence.
The Chancel Choir of First United Methodist Church, 217 S. Church St., will offer a Service of Choral Evensong sung in the Anglican tradition at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Under the direction of Matthew Brown, music presented will include the “Preces and Responses of Iain Quinn,” the “Magnificat and Nunc” dimittis written for St. Paul’s Cathedral, “Buffalo, NY” by Roland Martin, and Jonathan Dove’s ethereal “Seek Him that Maketh the Seven Stars.”
John Alexander, organist of First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, will accompany the choir.

Tabernacle of Joy
MOORESVILLE — Apostle S. L. Gillespie of Tabernacle of Joy Ministries, 421 Parker Ave., will be celebrating his eighth pastoral anniversary June 4 through 7, starting at 7:30 p.m. nightly with various speakers each night.
The anniversary celebration will wrap up with morning worship at 11 a.m. and an evening service at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 9.
MZMBC’s summer enrichment program
Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1920 Shirley Ave., along with GGEO Community Foundation, will host a summer enrichment program from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. June 10 through Aug. 9.
This program, for students who have completed grades K-8, includes academics, arts and crafts, field trips, storytelling, swimming, bowling, movies, praise dance, mime and talent activities and more.
Breakfast is served from 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m.
The cost is $180 for two weeks with a $15 registration fee. There are sibling discounts.

DiLoreto at The Inn
Christian performance venue The Inn, 1012 Mooresville Road, will host a benefit concert starting at 6 p.m. next Saturday, June 8, for Chelsea Diloreto, local missionary, who plans to return to an orphanage in Africa.
The Inn is sponsoring the concert to raise funds and supplies for the orphanage. DiLoreto will prepare authentic African dishes and sell items made from African cloth. Live music will be featured by the bands Self Denied, Betrayed Savior, Sound of Faith and Battlelion.
Pastor Justin Parker from Set Free church will bring a short message.
