Investigators search meth lab at Rockwell mobile home
ROCKWELL — Rowan County Sheriff’s investigators searched a Windswept Way mobile home early Wednesday morning and they say the occupant had several small meth labs inside and outside.
Chief Deputy David Ramsey said investigators received information about the mobile home, located just off Lower Stone Church and Old Beatty Ford roads. Officials served a state authorized search warrant shortly after 7:30 a.m. at the home.
Investigators are seeking arrest warrants for Joshua Aaron Senk, 32, who lives at the mobile home.
The home contained six one-pot meth labs used in a method called the “shake and bake” process where makers mix cold pills with other chemicals and shake the contents in two liter bottles, Ramsey said.
He said this method is a simpler way of cooking meth.
Senk is expected to be charged with offenses related to manufacturing methamphetamine. Additional arrests are expected.
Local officials called in agents with the State Bureau of Investigation’s Clandestine Laboratory Response Team.
The home was occupied by two adults. Windswept Way is a seemingly quiet neighborhood located on a dirt road with a number of mobile homes. Two flags stood in front of the property, one with a swastika on it and the other was a Confederate flag. The front of the home had several items strewn about the yard, including car tires and tree limbs. Several water skis were propped against the mobile home.
Investigators went to the home after receiving information that someone there was actively “cooking meth,” Ramsey said. He did not say how much methamphetamine was found in the home. He said investigators found some finished product in the home. Investigators seized items from the home.
Ramsey said investigators have had information on and off about the suspect for probably a year. He said officers followed that information, which allowed them enough probable cause to search the residence.
