Friends and family of Bob Lowman, longtime manager for the Rowan County American Legion baseball team, will hold a fundraiser for him from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the home of Nan and Cecil Whitley.

The Whitleys live in eastern Rowan County on Deerfield Drive, off Fish Pond Road. Directional signs will be posted on Fish Pond Road into Deerfield Place.

Hot dogs and hamburgers from Debbie Suggs and barbecue from Faith Soda Shop will be available. There will be music and a small auction, and contributions will be accepted for Lowman and his family.

Lowman is battling cancer.
