Second suspect sought in robbery, three-county chase

The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office has identified a second suspect in the home invasion that occurred in the early morning hours of May 8 in the Midland area. A 92-year-old woman was seriously injured during this incident.
Warrants have been issued for Robert Lamarr Smith for two counts of first-degree kidnapping.
This incident began as a home invasion in the University area of Charlotte, moved into Cabarrus County and ended in Anson County.
Smith is described as a black male, 23 years old, 5 feet 7 inches, 150 pounds. He has tattoos on the backs of his hands that say “they” on one hand and “know” on the other. He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see this individual, do not approach him but call 911 or your local Crime Stoppers. He is believed to be in the area of his home in Morven, but he may also be in Cabarrus, Stanly or Anson counties or even South Carolina.
Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of this individual. Other rewards may also be offered.
