MayFest opens tonight

Looking for something fun to do with the kids this week? MayFest opens tonight and runs through Sunday at the Rowan County Fairgrounds.

A new event brought in by the Rowan County Fair Association, MayFest will offer a bit of the county fair in springtime with carnival rides, attractions, entertainment, food, a petting zoo and more.


Featured acts will entertain nightly, with Darrell Harwood tonight, Divided by 4 on Thursday, Wayward Reason on Friday, Strings of Victory on Saturday and Heirs of Salvation on Sunday.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and close at 11 p.m. tonight through Friday. Gates open at 2 p.m. and close at 11:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $3 per person. Children younger than 3 get in free of charge.

The Rowan County fairgrounds is at 1560 Julian Road, near the intersection with Old Concord Road.
