In a 5-0 victory over Robinson in the first round of the 3A baseball playoffs, Atwell tossed a one-hitter. He had a no-hitter going into the sixth.

Atwell, who has already broken the school record for wins in a season, improved to 10-1. Carson, who is 24-3, will play at home Friday against Asheboro.
