Salisbury Police took Knox Bridges into custody Saturday evening after a brief standoff at Maupin Avenue ARP Church.
Police had surrounded the church earlier after reports of a gunman barricading himself inside.
A Post reporter watched as police escorted a woman thought to be his mother inside.
Bridges had been missing since Friday when he was scheduled to be sentenced in a plea deal from a fraud case involving millions of dollars he took from friends and associates.
Police had issued a bulletin later Friday saying Bridges was thought to be driving his mother’s Volvo and should be considered armed and dangerous.
The Volvo was at the Presbyterian Church just off Fulton Avenue.
No shots were fired, and about a dozen officers were at the church when Bridges was taken out in handcuffs.
Several church members were there and said Bridges’ mother, Jeanie, would accompany him while he was placed in custody.
They asked the community to pray for them both.
