CHINA GROVE — The Tack & Treasure Fundraiser for the Horse Protection Society of North Carolina continues today at 2135 Miller Road in China Grove.

The sale, which started Saturday, runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Money raised from the yard sale helps buy feed, hay and supplements for the 45 horses on the China Grove property.

The sale is held at the indoor riding arena. Among numerous donated items for the sale include 30 to 35 saddles, grooming equipment, art, cutlery, toys and riding clothes.

It costs $5,000 a month to provide hay, feed and supplements for the horses.

Many of the animals at the property have been mistreated, and some were placed at the Horse Protection Society because owners were unable to properly care for them.

Monetary donations can be accepted via Paypal through the Horse Protection Society’s website at www.horseprotection.org.
