Simple Living Festival at Dan Nicholas Park

The Simple Living Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Dan Nicholas Park Nature Center.

The festival is a free, family-friendly event with crafts, special programs and live entertainment.


Celebrate Earth Day with blacksmithing, woodworking, soapmaking, chainsaw carving and other crafts.

There will be a special program by sisters Gail McDiarmid and Marilyn McGee, authors of a new book about the importance of wolves in the wild. They will talk about their seven year journey crafting the pages.

Ken Clifton, a local renewable energy guru, will give a presentation on how solar energy and sustainable living has changed his life.

And all the while there will be great free music by David Myers and Ashley Honbarrier of Big Break, Jim and Angela Gobble, Benjamin Butchart and Joel Everett, Graham Carlton and Mary Gillespie, Jabe Fisher, Sue McHugh, Dalton Rowland and Liam Pendergrass.

All events and programs will take place at or near the Nature Center.
