Downtown Salisbury starts search for new leader

SALISBURY — Downtown Salisbury Inc. is searching for someone to replace Randy Hemann, who left his post as executive director this week after 16 years to become the city manager in Oxford.

Downtown leaders plan to hold a brainstorming session like the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce completed recently before it hired new President Elaine Spalding, who started Wednesday.

The downtown board will invite partners like tourism, the chamber and the Economic Development Commission to participate in the session, President Mark Lewis said.
