SALISBURY — The new Courtyard Marriott, under construction on East Innes Street, is hiring.
Set to open in early February, the new hotel will employ at least 20 people, General Manager Nicole MacPherson said.
She is interviewing applicants for all positions, including front desk staff, kitchen and wait staff, housekeeping and laundry. To apply, email a resume to MacPherson at CYsalisburyGM@bpr-properties.com, and she will reply with a job application.
Because the 94-room hotel is under construction, MacPherson is interviewing people at various locations, including the Chamber of Commerce and Rowan Public Library.
The hotel will feature Courtyard Marriott’s new design concept. The centerpiece is the Bistro, which sports the tagline “Eat. Drink. Connect.”
The Bistro offers a lounge-like atmosphere, with a full bar, sleek couches and colorful pillows. Communal tables encourage hotel guests to congregate rather than just pass through the lobby.
The restaurant will be open for breakfast and supper and offer grab-and-go items as well as a full menu.
“It is very modern and sleek,” MacPherson said of the hotel’s look. “The space in the lobby is great for gathering.”
MacPherson, who moved to Salisbury from Asheboro to run the hotel, is accepting applications through the first week of January.
Courtyard hotels are tailored to frequent business travelers. Most Courtyard locations in the Marriott chain have given up the standard breakfast buffet in favor of the bistro concept, MacPherson said.
