Who doesn’t love live music, dancing and fun? Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is in celebration mode this year in honor of the college’s 50th anniversary.

“As the college celebrates our 50th anniversary in 2013, we want to thank the community for its support over the last 50 years,” said Dr. Carol Spalding. “Join us in celebrating our community and your community college.”

The college’s first Vintage Prom will feature live music, drinks, dancing and fun at the Salisbury Depot on Friday from 7-11 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite attire from any era or culture.

“If that means your actual prom dress — great! Or if you’ve got a dress from a wedding that you never got the opportunity to wear again, that’s perfect, too. Whatever your attire, we will have a ball dancing the night away and celebrating Rowan-Cabarrus Community College,” said Paula Dibley, director of college relations, marketing and communication.

The Vintage Prom will be held at the Salisbury Depot, 215 Depot St. Tickets are $35 per person. Tickets can be purchased online at www.rccc.edu/vintageprompay/ or via check (Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Foundation, P.O. Box 1595, Salisbury, NC 28145). Attendees must be 21 or over; there will be a cash bar. For more information or questions, please call 704-216-3453.
