Salisbury Police Sgt. Hunter’s funeral set for 11 a.m. Friday on Catawba College campus

SALISBURY — The funeral for Salisbury Police Sgt. Mark Hunter, who died last Thursday of an apparent heart attack, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Catawba College’s Omwake-Dearborn Chapel.

In his 20 years on the Salisbury Police force, Hunter served as a patrol officer, drug investigator and most recently as a patrol sergeant.

He was 51. The U.S. Army veteran is survived by his wife, five children and five grandchildren.

A wake for Hunter will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Clark Funeral Home, 923 Indiana St., Kannapolis.
