Kevin Shaver earns Eagle

Kevin Michael Shaver, 17, son of Don and Janice Shaver of Salisbury, received his Eagle Scout Award Sunday, April 14 at Salem Lutheran Church. Scoutmaster Greg Hager of Troop 476, presented the award. Troop 476 is sponsored by St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Kevin has earned 36 merit badges. In Cub Scouts, he earned the God and Me, God and Country and Arrow of Light. Currently the Troop Instructor, he has served as Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Quarter Master and Order of the Arrow.


A junior at West Rowan High School, he is a member of FFA, JCL, Junior Civitans and the National Honor Society.

Kevin’s Eagle project was some work he did at Salem Lutheran Church, including creating and labeling walking trails; painting the crosswalk between the church and preschool building; building a volleyball court; putting up two tetherball poles; and replacing the basketball goals.
