SALISBURY — Three Salisbury residents were robbed at gunpoint after they were approached by two men about 3:30 a.m. this morning.

Authorities said one man was pistol whipped in the confrontation, but wasn’t seriously injured. More than $200 in cash was taken during the robbery.

Investigators are looking into the robbery, Capt. Shelia Lingle said Thursday.

Police said two men followed the group home from a service station on East Innes Street. When they group entered an apartment in the 500 block of Park Avenue, authorities said one of the gunmen approached and demanded money.

“Do you think this is a game?” the gunman repeatedly asked, according to one of the witnesses’ statements.

Authorities said one of the men was wearing a burgundy shirt and jeans. He was holding a silver semi-automatic handgun and had a short haircut and dark skin. The other suspect was listed only as a dark skinned male.

Anyone with information is asked to call Salisbury Police at 704-638-5333 or Rowan County Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
