Vandals damage Kiwanis Club building

Investigators say someone vandalized the Kiwanis Club building at 2135 Bringle Ferry Road sometime between April 2 and April 15, causing more than $75,000 in damage.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is looking into who could have ransacked the building and broke light fixtures, shattered windows, kicked in doors, discharged fire extinguishers in the building and broke all the hammers on a piano. Vandals even got onto the roof and broke a hole through it. Other than damaging much of the buildings’ contents, it appears nothing was taken. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office at 704-216-8700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245. See Thursday’s Post for more details.
