Kluttz names new director of human resources

RALEIGH - N.C. Department of Cultural Resources Secretary Susan Kluttz named Darryl Bass the new director of human resources for the department Monday.

“We are excited to welcome Darryl Bass to our team at Cultural Resources,” Kluttz said in a press release. “His wealth of experience and passion for customer service will be a great asset to the department.”


Bass has more than 20 years of experience in the personnel and human resources arena to the cultural resources department. He most recently served as human resources manager at the Office of Administrative Hearings and previously was the human resources manager for the Division of Mental Health in the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, the release said.

As director, Bass will oversee the range of human resources concerns, including staffing, employee relations, workman’s compensation, policy development and implementation, group classifications and equal employment opportunity.

He is a graduate of Campbell University and holds a bachelor of arts degree in business administration.
