Call 811 before you dig

KANNAPOLIS – Spring is officially here and so is National Safe Digging Month. Kannapolis Fire Department is partnering with North Carolina 811 to remind Kannapolis residents to “call before you dig!”

One free phone call to 811 two business days prior to digging starts the process of having underground utility lines marked. This simple call reduces the chance of diggers unintentionally striking a utility line and causing inconvenient outages, harm to themselves or someone else, and/or costly repair bills.

Keep everyone safe by calling 811 before you dig or you may be calling 911 for help. For more information on National Safe Digging Month, visit www.nc811.org.
