  • Posted: Friday, April 12, 2013 12:48 a.m.

The Children’s Book Festival will be held at Livingstone College on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be free food, entertainment, storytelling, bounce houses and other games and activities. Each child will receive two free books of their choice to take home.

The festival, dedicated in memory of Salisbury’s own international storyteller, Jack Torrence “The Story Lady,” is designed to help shape positive attitudes and encourage an appreciation for books and reading for children ages 3-12.

The event is free and open to the public. In case of inclement weather, the festival will be held in New Trent Gymnasium.

For information, call Deborah Johnson, 704-216-6118, or Marsha Mitchell, 704-216-6120.
