Wells Fargo employees from around the country recently donated stuffed animals from Build-A-Bear Workshop in Concord Mills Mall to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office. The employees were gathered for a team meeting in Charlotte. The meeting included a team building exercise where employees made personalized stuffed animals that will be given to children during domestic situations.

“We are very proud we had the opportunity to participate in a great team building activity and give back to the community at the same time,” said Paul Firby, manager of the risk management team. “It was our pleasure. We hope the kids find some comfort in receiving the animals.”


The risk management team from Wells Fargo visited the store, inside the Concord mall on March 21.

Each bear will be placed in an official Build-A-Bear box along with the “birth certificate” that the child can fill out after they name their new friend.

“We are glad to partner with corporate members in the community to work together to provide services to our citizens. The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is honored and grateful to have been chosen to receive these bears to use during traumatic situations involving young children,” said Sheriff Kevin Auten.
