SALISBURY — A Safety Taxi driver received a citation after he struck a pedestrian Wednesday at the corner of West Fisher and South Main streets.
Salisbury Police cited David Swartz, 56, of Spencer with failure to yield to a pedestrian.
Alan File, 46, whose last known address was listed as Oddie Road, was hit while crossing at the intersection at 10:30 a.m. The Safety Taxi van was turning left off West Fisher Street onto South Main Street and hit File, who was in the crosswalk, said Police Capt. Shelia Lingle.
File was taken Rowan Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released. He had a bump on the head and injured his collarbone, Lingle said.
Safety Taxi is located in the 200 block of East Fisher Street.
