SALISBURY — Police are still searching for a man who robbed a Walmart while wearing a wig earlier this week.

Authorities have obtained warrants for Andre Jermal Taylor, 27, of Copley Street in Lexington. Taylor is wanted on charges of felony attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

A police report said Taylor entered Walmart on Arlington Street about 2:50 a.m. on April 1.

He was dressed in a black shirt, jeans, a pink belt and was wearing a longhaired wig with a pocketbook, officers said.

Police said he then got into the checkout line and demanded money from the cashier and said if she resisted he would shoot her. He then put his hand in his pocketbook, the report said.

When the cashier called for assistance, authorities said, Taylor fled from the store.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333 or Rowan County Crime Stoppers at 866-639-5245.
