SALISBURY — The Bojangles’ restaurant at Peeler Road has been upgraded.

Once a kiosk inside the Wilco Travel Plaza at Interstate 85, the Bojangles’ location is now a new, stand-alone restaurant at 975 Peeler Road. The new restaurant opened Wednesday.

“We decided to upgrade our former kiosk location inside the Wilco Travel Plaza to a freestanding restaurant as a response to customer demand,” said Rochelle Wolfe, vice president of operations for owner WilcoHess LLC. “This new location will better serve the needs of all customers, whether they are on-the-go or looking to have a family meal inside the restaurant.”

WilcoHess is comprised of restaurateur Wolfe and several other business partners.

The former kiosk opened inside the Wilco Travel Plaza in September 1998.

The new restaurant features drive-through and in-store dining, beginning with breakfast and continuing through dinner late into the evening. Spanning 3,800 square feet, the restaurant can seat up to 86 guests and has one flat-screen television.

The interior and exterior design enhancements reflect Bojangles’ shift toward fast-casual dining, blending quick-service with a casual dining atmosphere. Construction and operation of the new restaurant employed about 50 local residents.

Hours are 5 a.m. until midnight, seven days a week. For more information, call 704-680-9017.

Qualified Builders Inc. was the general contractor on the project.

Bojangles’ Restaurants Inc. was founded in Charlotte in 1977. Bojangles’ now has more than 530 locations in 10 states.
