SALISBURY — Historic Salisbury Foundation has several events planned for April.

The volunteer work day will start at 9 a.m. April 6. Volunteers are needed to clean up the landscape and mulch the beds on the north side of Salisbury Depot, 215 Depot St. Bring a favorite plant if you’d like.

The foundation’s annual meeting is set for 7 p.m. April 12. The agenda includes reviewing accomplishments from the previous year, discussing upcoming goals and electing members to the board of trustees. The meeting is free and prospective members are welcome to attend. The guest speaker will be preservation architect Joseph Oppermann.

April 12 is also the deadline for nomination for the foundation’s preservation awards. The awards reception will be held May 23.

The foundation will offer a demonstration class on how to properly clean cemetery markers at 9 a.m. April 13 at Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, 1415 S. Main St., China Grove.

The class costs $10 for foundation members and $12 for non-members. For reservations, call 704-636-0103.
