While the family and friends of William “Billy” Allen Henderson pay their respects during his funeral today, authorities continue to investigate his death.

Henderson, 68, was stabbed to death at his West Bank Street home. His body was discovered a week ago by a caretaker. Investigators have said they don’t believe the killing was random. There was no forced entry into the home, located across from J.C. Price High School, where Henderson once attended.

He retired from Fieldcrest-Cannon Mills and worked part-time for Rowan Helping Ministries in the shelter. A graveside service is today at Oakdale Cemetery on Brenner Avenue.

“We are still working the case. We ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers or the police,” said Salisbury Police Capt. Shelia Lingle.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245 or the Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333.
