Two women charged following fight at hospital ER

SALISBURY — A Sunday afternoon fight that begin outside Rowan Regional Medical Center spilled into the emergency room lobby and landed two local women behind bars.

The Salisbury Police charged both Tyravia Akeise Angle, 21, of North Fulton Street, and Kiara Shanique Oglesby, 22, of Miller Avenue, Spencer, with misdemeanor simple assault/affray. Oglesby was additionally charged with two counts failure to appear stemming from a February arrest warrant.

Police were responding to the hospital for a fight that began on the second floor of the patient tower, however, when they arrived, they saw a fight outside the emergency room. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. with two women arguing with each other. The two began attacking each other outside and ended up inside.

Angle has previously been convicted of communicating threats. Oglesby, who is on probation for a 2012 drug possession conviction, has also been convicted of misdemeanor larceny. Angle was given a $3,000 secured bond and Oglesby was issued a $3,500 secured bond. Both women have since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center.
