CLEVELAND - Lavender Brynn Abernathy and Nicholas Dale Hunter were united in marriage Saturday, March 23, 2013, at The Arbors. The Rev. Jeremy White officiated the 4 p.m. ceremony. After the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Pavilion at the Arbors. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Ivan’s Restaurant of Salisbury.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was escorted by her father, David Abernathy. Attending as bridesmaids were sister of the groom Mrs. Natalie Rockefeller of Little Rock, Ark., Mrs. Jessica White and Mrs. Tracy Sloop of Salisbury and Mrs. Allison Monk of Lexington.


Groomsmen included the groomÕs brother-in-law, Mr. Win Rockefeller Jr. of Little Rock, Ark., brother of the bride Mr. Blake Abernathy of Cornelius, Mr. Michael Kaesik of Freeburg, Mo., and Mr. Steve Smith of Eldersburg, Md. Serving as ushers were Mr. Franke Jones and Mr. John Hoffman of Charleston, S.C.

Miss Grace Hunter of Charleston, S.C., daughter of the groom, and Miss Cadence Abernathy of Cornelius, niece of the bride, served as flower girls.

Mrs. Mandy Lingle of Salisbury was guest registrar; Ms. Sherry Elmore of Charlotte was program attendant; and guitarists were brother of the bride Mr. Kyler Brown and uncle of the bride Mr. Mark Jennings, both of Salisbury.

The bride is the daughter of David and Pam Abernathy and Paul and Karen Brown, all of Salisbury, and the granddaughter of Bud and Novella Abernathy and Charles and Patricia Jennings, all of Salisbury. A 2004 graduate of East Rowan High School and 2006 graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte with a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts, Brynn is an Activity Assistant at White Oak Manor of Charleston.

The groom is the son of Craig and Timmie Lynn Hunter of New Madrid, Mo., and the grandson of Dale and Janice Morgan of Osceola, Ark., and the late Hal and Mary Hunter. A 2001 graduate of New Madrid County Central High School and 2007 graduate of Johnson & Wales University with degrees in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management, Nick is the Executive Chef of Tomasso at Kiawah Island Golf Resort.

Following a wedding trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple will make their home in Charleston, S.C.
