The 14th Granite Quarry/Shuford School Reunion is Easter weekend, March 29-30. This year marks 45 years since the closing of the school.

Festivities kick off Friday at 6 p.m. with a Mix & Mingle as we relive the special memories and fun times at Granite Quarry/Shuford School. There will be Old School/New School music and dinner.

Saturday begins at 8 a.m. with an Alumni & Friends Breakfast, followed by the business meeting, 11 a.m. Memorial Service and Open House at the school building. The Pink & Grey Banquet will be held at 6 p.m. that evening. Recognition of former students, including the oldest living students, and the Trailblazer Awards will be presented to Calvin Strawder, Dolan Hubbard, Rayfield Oglesby and John Hawkins, posthumously.

Keynote speaker will be Ronald Staley of Norfolk, Va., a 1986 graduate of Salisbury High School and retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. He is a minister and serves as elder of Endtime United Church in Norfolk. He is the son of Montina K. Fox, a former student of Granite Quarry/Shuford School, and Mr. James Staley.

The reunion is open to the community. For registration and ticket information, contact Shirley Holmes, 704-637-1778.

Donations are accepted for the Granite Quarry/Shuford School Scholarship Fund.
