City closing Shober Bridge for repairs

  • Posted: Friday, March 22, 2013 11:39 a.m.

The city of Salisbury Street Division will close the Ellis Street (Shober) Bridge in the 400 block of Ellis Street, beginning the week of March 25.

The bridge closure addresses needed repairs to the bridge based on findings of deterioration during the most recent inspection. An estimated time of six weeks is scheduled for repair work. Work will be performed concurrently with repairs of the Fisher Street Bridge, which has already been closed due to deterioration.

During the course of repairs, local traffic should seek alternate routes. Repairs to the bridge and surrounding infrastructure will be coordinated by the Street Division.

Inquiries regarding the Ellis Street (Shober) Bridge and Fisher Street Bridge repairs may be directed to Street Division Manager Craig Powers at 704-638-5251.
