Authorities continue to investigate the murder of a 68-year-old West Bank Street man who was found stabbed inside his home Tuesday evening.

Salisbury Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said detectives are continuing to conduct interviews, but investigators also ask that anyone with information contact the police department.

William “Billy” Allen Henderson was stabbed several times in a room in the rear of his home, located across the street from the former J.C. Price High School. Investigators say the motive is unclear, though the crime was not random. The night Henderson was killed, investigators say, a 42-inch flat screen television was taken from his home. A caretaker called 911. Investigators have not said how many times the victim was stabbed or where he was stabbed. Investigators are awaiting an autopsy report. Friends and neighbors said Henderson was a mostly private person.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury Police at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 866-639-5245. Crime Stoppers calls can be anonymous.
