This week’s Athlete of the Week is Carson baseball player John Daugherty.



Daugherty heated up at the plate and on the mound for the Cougars, who were at the top of the North Piedmont Conference standings entering this week. The Cougars are 7-2 overall and 2-1.




In a 10-2 win over A.L. Brown, Daugherty drove in three runs. He had a run-scoring single in the third and a two-run single in the fifth. In a 12-0 win over South Rowan, Daugherty had two hits and threw the last inning, striking out two.
