KANNAPOLIS — Police on Monday arrested a second suspect and identified the victim in a weekend murder.

Logan Porter Brown and Demarcus Rashad Chambers are charged in the Saturday shooting death of 21-year-old Casey Ray Wilkinson of Clarence Jordan Court, Concord.

They’re being held in the Cabarrus County jail without bond, each charged with first-degree murder and two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police were called to a home in the 1700 block of Hampton Forest Drive about 6 p.m. Saturday. They found Wilkinson shot to death.

Authorities say Chambers and Brown were seen running from the area.

Chambers, 24, of Klondale Ave. Extension, was arrested Sunday.

Brown’s vehicle was recovered in the Concord Mills Boulevard area, but police couldn’t find him.

Brown, 22, of Spring Lake Drive, Concord, was arrested Monday in Charlotte by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team.

He was taken into custody without incident, a Kannapolis Police Department news release said.

Investigators ask anyone with information about the shooting to call the Kannapolis Police Department at 704-920-4000 or Crime Stoppers at 704-932-7463.

The public also can post or direct message the Police Department on its social media sites, @kannapolis911 on Twitter or Kannapolis911 on Facebook.
