The Carolina Artists Photo Expo 2013 winners

The Carolina Artists held Photo Expo 2013, its second photography competition, exhibition and sale, from March 6 through 8 at the Salisbury Civic Center.

More than 80 entries were exhibited in this year’s show, with cash and prizes of more than $1,500 being awarded.

A community-wide reception honoring the winners was held March 7 at the Salisbury Civic Center. This year’s winners were:

Black and white category: 1st place, Lindsay McManus; 2nd place, Zelia Frick; 3rd place, Celeste Ward. Honorable mentions went to Bill Ward and Leslie Denton.

Color category: 1st place, Jennifer Koerner; 2nd place, Clyde; 3rd place, Leslie Denton. Kim Lance and Zelia Frick received honorable mention.

Special digital effects category: 1st place, Leslie Denton; 2nd place, Lindsay McManus, 3rd place, Bill Ward. Charles E. Ramsey, Jr. earned two honorable mentions.

The best in show award, as determined by the judge, went to Jennifer Koerner for a black and white print titled “Grimes Mill – The Dance Hall”.
