Pedestrian stuck, killed Friday night on South Cannon Boulevard in Kannapolis

KANNAPOLIS — A 63-year-old Kannapolis man was struck and killed Friday night when he walked into the path of a northbound vehicle near the intersection of South Cannon Boulevard and Fairview Street.

The victim, who died at the scene, was identified as Baldomero Feliciano-Bautis. He reportedly lived about a block from where the accident occurred.


Police logs put the time of the accident at 8:01 p.m. and identified the driver of the car as Tommy Warren Rogers.

Officer E.B. Ashworth investigated. The driver had the right of way and did not see Feliciano-Bautis, who was trying to cross South Cannon Boulevard, reports said. The victim was wearing dark clothing.

There is no crosswalk in the area.

No charges were filed as of Friday night.
