SALISBURY — A Fox TV pilot based on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow will film in Salisbury, complete with police chases, a gunfight and a horse running through the street.

Sleepy Hollow could start filming as early as next week at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, the Confederate monument on West Innes Street and other locations around Salisbury, said Elaney Hasselmann, city spokeswoman.

The pilot, from the writer-executive producer team of Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci of Star Trek, is described as a modern-day supernatural thriller set in the Northeast.

If Fox picks up the show, several locations in Salisbury will become permanent backdrops for filming, Hasselmann said.
