Club president Janet Smith welcomed new members Linda Gibson, Jeweldean Kincaid, Rich Zatulove and Janelle Murray during the recent Kneeling Gardners meeting.

Kym Cress from Cut of Glass along with Phyllis Craft presented cut glass windows and yard pieces.

Joanne and Jim Reynolds along with club member Doris Davis showed and explained pieces they had done.

Club chaplain Nancy Rutledge led devotions, Judy Coggins gave the treasurer’s report and Rutledge reported the purchase two benches with the money for the Veteran’s Park project that have “Kneeling Gardeners” inscribed on them and will be in place for the park opening.

Earl Gray, chair of the plant sale committee, is organizing the annual plant sale scheduled for the first Saturday in May. Flowers, bulbs, herbs, bushes, and small trees will be offered for sale. Proceeds from this project help the Club support charitable needs within the community.

Refreshments were provided by Earl and Shirley Gray, Gail Puntch, Nancy Rutledge, Sarannet Shelton, Janet Smith, Royce and Carolyn Thomason.

Kneeling Gardeners meet at 7 p.m. on the fourth Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Kannapolis.

During the March 25 meeting, Michael Bradshaw from Wild Birds Unlimited will provide a program on hummingbirds. Anyone interested in gardening is welcomed to attend. For details, call the church office at 704-933-1127.
