SALISBURY — Authorities removed a Rockingham woman from an overnight train after train officials said she was intoxicated and belligerent.

The Salisbury Police charged Jessica Lee Price, 22, of Seaboard Street, Rockingham, with resist, delay, obstruct an officer; assault on a government official, second-degree trespass, disorderly conduct at a bus station or airport, all of which are misdemeanors.

Around 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, an officer was asked to assist Amtrak Police with removing an unruly passenger at the Salisbury Depot, 215 Depot St. When officers arrived, Price was cursing and causing a scene, said Capt. Shelia Lingle.

Price was asked to leave the train and the station with her bags. She told officers she was going to smoke a cigarette and call her mother. A report said Price refused to leave when officers asked her to leave. She was arrested and charged with trespassing. Price was taken to the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office and given a $3,000 secured bond. When she was taken to the Rowan County Detention Center, she cursed an officer and kicked him in the thigh. She was returned to the magistrate’s office and charged with assault on an officer and given an additional $10,000 secured bond. Price remains in the county jail.
