Carson wrestler Alex Lyles

Lyles won the Midwest Regional Championship at 220 pounds on Saturday. Wrestling at Hickory Ridge High School, Lyles recorded two pins and two decisions on his way to the title. In the 220-pound championship match, Lyles defeated Ledford’s Guadalupe Cervantes by a score of 8-4.

 
 
Lyles and several other Rowan County wrestlers will compete this Saturday in the individual state championships.
