GREENSBORO (AP) A spokesman says U.S. Rep. Howard Coble is in a Greensboro hospital where he’s undergoing tests for dizziness.
Chief of Staff Ed McDonald says the 81-year-old Republican will be held overnight at Moses H. Cone Hospital for observation and additional tests. He says Coble’s primary care physician recommended that Coble go to the hospital after the congressman said he almost fainted Tuesday while preparing to fly to Washington, D.C.
McDonald says doctors have reported that Coble’s vital signs look good. Among the tests ordered is a CT scan.
McDonald says Coble has experienced some dizziness and light-headedness for the past few weeks.
Unless testing finds an immediate problem, McDonald expects Coble will be released Wednesday from the hospital. It’s not known if he’ll return this week to Washington.
