West Rowan student cited for having weapon, drugs on school grounds
SALISBURY — A West Rowan High School student was charged Wednesday after an officer reported finding a weapon and drugs in his car.
According to a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report, during a random vehicle search, a K-9 police dog alerted on a vehicle belonging to 18-year-old Demetrius Rashad Davidson.
The officer notified administrators, who then searched the inside of the car. They found a small silver eyeglasses container with marijuana residue in the driver’s door, the report said, and a “blackjack” club in the glove box.
Davidson received citations for possession of a weapon on campus or other educational property, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
