Partners In Learning Child Development and Family Resource Center and Novo Nordisk are collaborating to provide a free Diabetes Academy.
The event will be held at the center, 2386 Robin Road, at noon on Feb. 22. It is free and open to the public. The class will be given by a Novo Nordisk diabetes educator to help attendees learn about staying healthy and managing diabetes. Novo Nordisk is a global healthcare company.
“Knowledge is power and this class is a wonderful opportunity for people to come and learn about the risk factors, management of diabetes,” said Partners In Learning Executive Director Norma Honeycutt. “Diabetes is a deceptive disease in that most people diagnosed with diabetes have probably had it for a number of years without knowing. The symptoms aren’t always obvious.”
