The family of Pal Barbara Turner surprised her with a birthday party to mark her 77th birthday on Sunday, Jan. 20. Fifty-five family and friends present at the Blue Bay Restaurant. Along with her husband Dewitt, her sister Virginia Miller and brothers Jimmy Hailey and Harold Hailey, hosted the celebration. Out of town guests included her pastor, the Rev. Dr. David Bracken, from Reidsville. The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of a personalized imaged cake of Pal along with balloons and gifts. Taeya and Mamie Teasley served as photographers.
