This week’s Athlete of the Week is Carson’s D.J. Love.

Love was instrumental in the Cougars winning two NPC games last week. In a 61-46 victory over North Iredell, he scored 14 points, including three baskets in a 13-0 run that gave the Cougars a cushion. In a 60-46 win over East Rowan, he scored 11 points and hit a late jumper that sealed it.

Love, a senior, has hit double figures in five straight games and has been a key to the Cougars winning nine of their last 11 games.
